"Contano Foundation began partnering with Basse District Hospital in the year 2016 to provide support to complement the efforts of The Gambia Ministry of Health in providing quality healthcare services to reidence of Upper River Region and beyond. The Ministry of Health is relentless in providing support but it can't do it all alone and Contano Foundation has been a highly reliable and dependable partner in providing complementary support.
The management and staff of Basse District Hospital are proud that the partnership with Contano Foundation continues to be mutually beneficial and positively impacting lives and livelihood in Basse. The team worked for instance on providing a fully equiped ambulance, the full renovation and adoption of the Pediatric Unit, providing staff uniforms, hospital furniture, medical equipment and the continuing Contano Internship Program that creates a platform for learning and sharing of cultures, experience and good clinical practices.
